AP Computer Science Principles Teacher

Maimonides School 34 Philbrick Road, Brookline MA

Maimonides School, a Modern Orthodox day school in Brookline, MA, seeks an AP Computer Science Principles teacher for the 2019-20 academic year.

The school is searching for an individual who is professional, energetic, flexible, and student-centric. We are looking for a candidate who understands and addresses the diverse learning styles of children, works collegially as a team member, and is able to communicate effectively. Ideally, the candidate will be eager to grow in the position and develop professionally.

Responsibilities include meeting with students in grades 10 -12 who elect this course above and beyond their core curriculum in preparation for the AP examination in Computer Science Principles. (This AP course was created by the College Board so that students with an interest in computer science who do not have specific training in coding could pursue this path.)

The ideal candidate will be available after school hours (and therefore can carry this course in addition to a part-time or full-time position elsewhere, if necessary) and has demonstrated experience in programming and/or programming principles.

We want you to be part of our team! Maimonides offers an unparalleled dual curriculum in Judaic and general studies, with an emphasis on moral and spiritual development. From early childhood (2-year-olds) through 12th grade, our students are avid learners, eager to engage with each other, their teachers, and their community.

Join our family of outstanding educators and administrators who recognize each new day as an opportunity for creative ideas, collaboration, and connection. Maimonides is more than a school; it is a vibrant community whose members embody kindness and compassion for others.

Maimonides School is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture. Maimonides does not discriminate based on disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected under federal, state or local laws.

Please apply to jobs@maimonides.org with your desired position in the subject line.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Preferred and 0-2 years of experience.
