When a community addresses a systemic problem with innovative solutions, people take notice. CJP’s Anti-Poverty Initiative (API) is a case in point. Thanks to the critically important support of our donors, we have helped more than 5,000 people find jobs, receive emergency assistance, and qualify for public benefits through the API. Today, communities across the nation are seeking to understand what we are doing differently and how they can replicate this model.
In 2011, CJP’s Boston-Haifa Connection launched the Parents at the Center (PAC) program in Haifa. At the time, services for struggling families in Israel were aimed at children alone. Acknowledging that parents are the single most influential factor in the life of a young child, PAC focused on supporting and empowering entire families — across all incomes, education levels, and ethnicities.
Thanks to the enthusiastic support for the Bridge to the Future Fund, CJP is reimagining the model for engaging young adults more deeply in Jewish life and redefining how we build and sustain Jewish community.
CJP's Project Inspire focuses young adults' attention on social innovation while connecting them to Israel and their Jewish identity through travel to developing countries.
