Health insurance exploration update

On behalf of our partners, CJP recently explored the possibility of participating in Massachusetts’ co-op health insurance option for small organizations that employ less than 50 staff members. Unfortunately, due to a recent regulatory change from the Center of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the small group discounts that were available to co-ops have been eliminated. We are disappointed with this news, as we know that this was of interest to many of you.

We want to thank all the organizations that completed the recent health insurance survey with Spring Consulting Group. You provided valuable input, and we know that aside from salaries, health insurance is a top expense category. We will continue to share any information and opportunities that may be helpful.

Please let Kimberlee Schumacher know if an information session with Spring Consulting Group to address your health insurance questions would be of interest.

Spring Consulting Group is happy to serve as a resource; contact information is below.

Designing and Facilitating Hybrid Meetings

Thursday, October 7 | 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. ET | with Rae Ringel

The whole world is trying to determine if, when, and how to go back to work. We’re deciding if meetings should be in the office, virtual or hybrid. We have done a great job figuring out how to meet meaningfully in the virtual space, but what about hybrid meetings?

This is a great time to start planning!

In this session with Rae Ringel, you’ll learn how to make hybrid meetings more engaging, energetic, and successful. We will focus on how to create seamless and integrated experiences for participants who are both remote and in person, as well as how to use a variety of strategies to engage everyone.

Topics include:

  • Developing a positive mindset to make each person essential to the meeting
  • Deciding when to design for hybrid meetings and designing for equity – e.g., who is in the room, who is on the screen, and the implications
  • How to best “set the table” for hybrid design and facilitation agreements
  • How to clear distractions and respectfully invite participants to remain present and engaged
  • Techniques for hybrid introductions
  • Tips on technical requirements for successful hybrid meetings

Jewish Nonprofit Professionals Communities of Practice

Building on the success of our convenings for Jewish nonprofit professionals that we launched last year for development professionals and CEOs, we are expanding to the areas of finance and human resources. These convenings provide opportunities for professionals to gather (virtually) and discuss timely topics, share knowledge, seek advice, and build relationships with colleagues in related professional areas.

We encourage you to invite your colleagues to join, and welcome your participation to help shape these groups, suggest discussion topics, and ask questions.

If you have questions or want to offer input into the design of these or other convenings of Jewish nonprofit professionals, please contact Kimberlee Schumacher VP of Partnerships & Services at kimberlees@cjp.org.
