CJP Communal Security Initiative

 


CJP’s Communal Security Initiative (CSI) provides professional security advice and support to meet the needs of the Jewish community as it is forced to contend with increased antisemitic threats and attacks. CJP offers training, assessments, and consultations free of charge to Jewish institutions in the cities and towns that CJP serves. Grants for physical security improvements may be available to qualifying organizations.

  • Grants

    Your organization may qualify for state and federal grants to improve security, and CJP can help you understand the application process.


  • Communal Cybersecurity Program

    We work with our communal partners to help them better understand and improve their cybersecurity posture through training, funding, and access to services.

Jeremy Yamin | Vice President, Security and Operations

Jeremy joined CJP as Director of Security in 2016 to provide support to CJP’s partner organizations. From 1994 to 2016, Jeremy served as a Special Agent with the U.S. State Department, Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) serving as Regional Security Officer, Diplomatic Attaché, and Assistant Special Agent in Charge, DSS, Boston Field Office. His career was divided between conducting and supervising criminal investigations and protective operations in the U.S. and postings abroad. Overseas, Jeremy managed complex security programs to protect U.S. Ambassadors, diplomats, U.S. Embassies, and to provide safety and security guidance to American schools, businesses, and religious and non-profit organizations. Daniel Levenson | Director, Communal Security Initiative

As Director for Communal Security, Daniel manages CJP’s Communal Security Initiative (CSI), which provides security support to over 250 institutions including 14 Jewish Day Schools, 40 preschools, 100 synagogues, and dozens of other Jewish agencies and organizations. He also oversees the CSI Cybersecurity Program, and serves as a liaison to senior leaders at Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies in Greater Boston. Kenneth N. Berkowitz | Senior Security Advisor

Ken joined CJP in June 2022 after a 31 year career in law enforcement culminating in 17 years as the Chief of Police, Canton Police Department. He is a former President of the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (METROLEC) and served as the Control Chief of the organization’s Mobile Operations Unit and Regional Response Team Commander. As part of this team, Ken responded to the Democratic National Convention, professional sports championship celebrations, and the Boston Marathon bombing. More...
