Improving Care

We’re partnering with physicians to provide training and share Western medicine best practices in Dnipro. We’re also expanding the Jewish Medical Clinic to reach more patients and provide much needed family healthcare and services.

Jewish Medical Clinic (JMC)

The JMC seeks to provide high-quality medical services to the Jewish population at a low cost. The clinic, which opened in Dnipro in February 2012, does not discriminate provision of care, though Jewish patients receive reduced rates. The DKP Medical Committee in Boston, made up of approximately 15 physicians from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, and private clinics, is deeply involved in consulting with JMC physicians and related issues. Past successes include reducing the diagnoses of Stage 4 ovarian cancer from 30% – 0% and reducing deaths from trauma surgery and life-threatening injuries. In addition, with the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine, Boston physicians have provided much needed medical advice and even traveled to Dnipro to help doctors with new techniques to aid those wounded in the fighting.

Community Relief

Emergency financial support from Greater Boston has allowed the community to provide much needed medical and financial assistance to Jewish families who are struggling to survive the economic crisis. With each passing day, people’s nerves fray and their ability to withstand the economic upheaval becomes less viable. Donations to the Dnipro Jewish Fund by local philanthropists in Dnipro are down significantly and Rabbi Kaminezki struggles to help the most vulnerable.
